Madi's first day of grade one

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

When Madison started Junior Kindergarten - I was a wreck. Watching her walk away from me into her classroom - it sounds cliche, but it was like my heart was walking outside of me. I felt heartbroken.

When Madison started Senior Kindergarten last year it was a new time of anxiety for me as she started french immersion. What if it's not a good fit? Too hard? What if????

This year Madison starts grade one... does it just keep getting harder??

So many unknowns - what doors does she go in? Should I let her eat lunch at school or bring her home each day? What is her teacher like? Will she have good friends in her class? Mark and I last night (as I was bawling about today) looked at each other and said "Maybe we should home school" - just so we could keep her close to us.

And next week Eden starts Junior Kindergarten... how much more can my poor heart handle?? Sigh. But - I'm proud of my girls - they're wonderful, incredible gals I adore. Here is a few pics of Madi today before school....

Madi wanted to wear her gym shorts taht she wore all summer long - fortunately they were in the wash! Here she is in her new dress - and with her "BFF" (Best Friends Forever) necklace Zoe gave her.

The girls both wanted these cheetah backpacks (because they think they're animal rescuers) - but they are so similar it's hard to tell them apart. So they each have their initial sewn on... Madi loves this bag!

When did Madi get to be a head taller than Eden?

And Madi finding friends in line...

And her good friend Kaitlin dragging her inside...

I must be the worst mother ever! The first day of school, I was one of 4 mothers who went out for breakfast and coffee....lots of coffee....with no kids to interrupt. !!!We thought it was great.
You are a great mom...I applaud you....and I enjoy reading about the antics of your kids.
