Trip # 2 of 3

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

So PEI was part one of our vacation... the next leg of the trip took us to Cape Breton Island. We loooooooved it here. So peaceful. The fog and cool air was a perfect fit too!

We spent two nights in St. Peter's to relax before heading out on the Cabot Trail. While in St. Peter's we enjoyed a Busker Festival where we saw the Calypso Tumblers - Madi now wants to be a Calypso Tumbler when she grows up! Here's a clip of them doing their routine on America's Got Talent...

And we watched a boat race of some sort - no idea what was happening but we cheered our hearts out!

And we enjoyed a great beach!

Eden insisted on being called "Beach Girl" - this photo suits her new name.

And finally - on to the wonderful, majestic Cabot Trail!!!

And my dream home (seriously!)

And we went whale watching - wow! We saw some Minke Whales and then Pilot Whales (which are like Killer Whales). The Pilot Whales were so close - at one point I had on my zoom lens and I couldn't get them all in as they were just too darn close! And we saw a momma whale with it's baby... so sweet!

And some views from the boat...

Apparently they'll let any ragamuffin family on the whale watching boats... wow! We look ROUGH!

The kids loved Joe's Scarecrows.... a little creepy but fun!

And as soon as we drove off the island the rain clouds rolled in and it started to pour - for two days. So instead of our usual lodging (our tent) we stayed in a little cabin. A nice break!

Oh! And I have to show Mark's McLobster sandwich - so funny!

And my lucky charm I found!
